FAQ
Can you work to a measurement?
Yes we can. However, we recommend templating the design prior to manufacturing in order to eliminate any costly mistakes.
What is templating?
Templating is a method involving the use of a flexible material which is cut to the exact dimensions of your worktops, sink and hob cut outs. This ensures that your stone will be a perfect fit during installation.
Can I add to my worktops at a later date?
Yes, but as the stone may be quarried at different times we cannot guarantee a colour match. With regards to quartz worktops, these are batched in different shades so finding an exact colour match can be problematic.
Will I be able to see a sample of my chosen material?
Yes. We feel that it’s important that you see the stone before you finalise your choice and we can offer this service.
How many draining grooves do I need?
The most popular choice is five at a length of 400mm at either one or both sides of the sink. But it depends on the aesthetics of your kitchen and of course it is up to you.
What thickness worktops are available?
30mm is the most common choice, with 20mm for up stands and splashbacks. However we can provide worktops in a variety of different thicknesses to suit your installation.
Is my existing kitchen strong enough?
Yes, most kitchens will be strong enough, but the area around the sink may need strengthening. If you have any doubt we would be pleased to discuss this in a home visit.
Do any of the stones scratch or stain?
Granite shouldn’t get stained from liquids or damaged from hot utensils and sharp objects, but to minimise the risk of staining, we treat the surface with a sealer. However, Marble is a much softer stone and if you want to use it in the kitchen, care must be taken especially with liquids such as red wine and beetroot. We recommend that any spillage be cleaned up immediately. Quartz worktops are non-porous and are highly resistant to stains, making them ideal for kitchen use.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes we offer our services to both commercial and domestic clients.
Will I be able to see the joints?
Yes the joints will be visible but discreet no wider than 3mm.
